First, start by assembling all the necessary components of the hookah. These typically include the base, shaft, bowl, hose, Grommets, and Tongs. Make sure each part is clean and free of any debris from previous sessions.
Next, fill the base of the hookah with water. The water level should be just enough to cover the bottom of the downstem. Adding cold water can help to cool down the smoke, resulting in a smoother inhale. You can also experiment with adding ice or fruit juice to enhance the flavor.
Packing the Bowl
After setting up the base, it’s time to pack the bowl with flavored tobacco, known as SHISHA. Take a small amount of shisha and sprinkle it into the bowl, making sure not to overpack. Use your fingers or a fork to gently fluff the shisha for better airflow.
Once the bowl is packed, cover it with a piece of Foil. Use a toothpick or a fork to poke several small holes in the foil to allow heat to penetrate the shisha. Alternatively, you can use a metal screen instead of foil for easier hole-poking.
Place the bowl on top of the hookah shaft, ensuring a tight seal with the grommet. If the bowl wobbles, adjust the packing or add more grommets to secure it in place. Now, you’re ready to light the charcoal and start enjoying your hookah session!
